With all the things we are motivated to do as small business owners, this one question is the root of them all. How do we inspire others in our business? As service industry business owners, we encourage others to get better at what they do. Learn to streamline their business. Help them take action in what they want in their business or life. We are, in essence, leading them to success. Whether they are women or men or not specified, inspiring others is the most impactful way we can help others to make a change in their lives.
Knowing that we do this, ponder deeply these questions below.
How have I inspired others to make a change this year?
Do you have a clear answer?
Did you see a transformation in yourself this year that influences others to make a change?
While change can be powerful, we can not force others to make a change, but through our actions, we can show them that change is good and hopefully inspire them to make their change.
Can you answer “yes” to this question? Even if we can’t see the actual transformation before our eyes, we have made a difference in others’ lives.
If you need help to inspire your clients to change, below are ways to guide them.
- Help each client be accountable for their business. Many business owners want to give the tasks away and be done with them. That isn’t healthy. I like to remind them regularly that they ultimately are responsible for their business and the direction it is going. I am here to assist and streamline the process. That is all.
- Treat your clients (Affiliate Link) kindly. Kindness and compassion help them realize you are there to help them, not judge them for what they are doing.
- Listen intently. Clients (Affiliate Link) want to know that you understand their situation, so listening intently will go a long way.
- Keep Clients (Affiliate Link) Informed. If you are a virtual assistant, you may never see your customers. Letting them know what you are doing when you are doing it goes a long way. I prefer to email my clients (Affiliate Link) a schedule at the end of the month for the next month on the dates I will be working on their projects. It helps me be more transparent, and it helps them know when I require their content or material.
My goal is to inspire clients (Affiliate Link) and visitors by showing and helping them streamline their businesses and organize their lives through DIY organizing and easy recipes. Feel free to visit our Admin Services for details on how we help small businesses.
I hope this inspires you to think about how to help your client.

Great food for thought! As VAs, it’s easy to fall into the trap of waiting for the client to tell us what they want us to do, but it’s better for them and for us if we think of ways to improve their business and make recommendations. Even if they don’t want to implement them, but it shows that we know our stuff, are proactive, and have their best interests at heart. And if they do, it’s a win-win all around.
