I am a Whovian (Doctor Who fan) from the 8th Doctor forward. Sorry to say, I tried to watch the first to 7th doctor and just couldn’t get past the stories and the set. In honor of Doctor Who’s new season premiere on Saturday on BBC, I found some great Doctor Who quotes that any small business owner can learn from. I also added thoughts below the quote. Enjoy and please share.
DOCTOR WHO QUOTE #1:
“People assume that time is a strict progression of cause to effect, but *actually* from a non-linear, non-subjective viewpoint – it’s more like a big ball of wibbly wobbly… time-y wimey… stuff.” ~ Steven Moffat
My two cents: Spend time on tasks that are important but have fun in the process. Time will always fly by.
DOCTOR WHO QUOTE #2:
“There’s something that doesn’t make sense. Let’s go and poke it with a stick.” ~ Steven Moffat
My thoughts about this quote: If something doesn’t work, figure out a different way to do the task. Poke a stick at it. =)
DOCTOR WHO QUOTE #3:
“You want weapons? We’re in a library! Books! The best weapons in the world!” ~ Steven Moffat
My thoughts about this quote: Remember: knowledge is power. When you don’t know something, go and read up on it and figure it out.
DOCTOR WHO QUOTE #4:
“The universe is big, its vast and complicated, and ridiculous. And sometimes, very rarely, impossible things just happen and we call them miracles. And that’s the theory. Nine hundred years, never seen one yet, but this would do me.” ~ Steven Moffat
My thoughts about this quote: Working gets tasks accomplished. And, people finish tasks. They happen because they work at it, not because it is a miracle.
DOCTOR WHO QUOTE #5:
“We’re all stories, in the end.” ~ Steven Moffat
My thoughts about this quote: Tell your story and people will better understand you and your business.
DOCTOR WHO QUOTE #6:
“You know, the very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common: they don’t alter their views to fit the facts; they alter the facts to fit their views.” ~ Chris Boucher
My thoughts about this quote: Make sure you are seeing the true situation not what you interpret the situation to be.
I hope you enjoyed this post.
